MB02 - ENGEL [Core Clash Expansion]

Role: Multipurpose Energy Dynamo

Research teams have had few opportunities to observe the elusive, winged MB-02 ENGEL in action, and are still uncertain about the science behind its remarkable abilities. However, it appears that the robot’s four large, articulated wing arrays generate some sort of harmonic field that is able to convert solid matter (including its own body) into pure energy and back again, as well as convert energy from one form to another. Those familiar with Einstein’s Theory of Special Relativity will know that this places a tremendous amount of raw power at ENGEL’s disposal, which it can use to generate protective barriers and unleash devastating attacks.

Despite its typically solitary nature, MB-02 ENGEL has been observed protecting other robots on occasion, shielding them from harm and putting itself in the line of fire. Even when utterly destroyed, however, it seems to reconstitute itself eventually, thousands of twinkling motes of energy gracefully coalescing until it can reassume solid form.

Role: Autonomous Juggernaut

The mysterious robot dubbed the “All-In-One,” or A.I.O., is designed to be entirely self-sustaining. Contrary to its somewhat primitive, buglike appearance, it is actually a cunning and resourceful hunter. While most robots on the planet seem to have gone dormant over the years, A.I.O. has remained active: exploring, learning... and evolving.

Its original form is unknown, but over time it has grown to become a truly fearsome beast. It uses powerful hydraulic claws and an array of tractor-beam projectors to pulverize and consume rock, debris, and even the wreckage of other robots, harvesting raw materials to fuel, repair and improve its own systems. Salvage is drawn into its cavernous maw, where an internal smelting furnace and miniature manufacturing plant transform it into useful new components. These same tools make it both incredibly dangerous and extraordinarily resilient in combat, all but guaranteeing that its ongoing mission of self-improvement will continue.
